Best short co-op games
For when you finally find a night to play together — but don't have all evening.
Co-op games where a single session runs 60 minutes or less — for when you and a friend finally find a night that works but don't have all evening. Some are local, some are online, some are both. Each one is designed around short loops: a level, a run, a round. You sit down together, actually finish something, and call it a good night.

What counts as a “short” co-op game?
On this list, short means a single session runs 60 minutes or less. That might be one level, one run, a few rounds, or a natural stopping point designed into the game. The goal is that you can sit down together, actually finish something, and still have time to wind down before midnight.
Is local co-op or online co-op better for short sessions?
Both have advantages. Local co-op removes latency and setup friction — you just hand over a controller. Online co-op means you can play with someone in a different city, which opens up the scheduling a lot. This list includes both. Check individual game pages for specifics on what modes are supported.
We only have 45 minutes. Can we actually finish something?
Yes — that's exactly what this list is for. A single Overcooked level takes 5 minutes. A Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime level runs 20–30 minutes. Many of these are designed in self-contained chunks. Pick one, decide on a session length before you start, and stick to it. The best co-op games reward short sessions — they're not meant to be marathons.
